Monroe County
Emergency Operations Center (EOC)

The planning section is located in the front of the Emergency Operations Center. Emergency Management/Homeland Security planning staff occupy this area and work on a number of projects including disbursing over a half million dollars a year in equipment and support to the County's first responder community. During an emergency activation, field response assignments will be organized out of this area as will logistical and asset support/tracking. Responders and Operations Officers will be credentialed here, and any field deployable equipment is distributed from this area.

The Monroe County Emergency Operations Center is utilized to bring together key agencies and disciplines that are needed in response to a large-scale emergency or disaster event. This technologically advanced facility was opened in 2008. Equipped with a kitchen area, five wall display projectors, media and communications monitoring can all be accomplished from this area. With over sixty operations officer positions, and a state of the art emergency communications center, Monroe County proudly boasts the newest and largest full-time Emergency Operations Center in the State of Michigan.
