SERVICES
Trained and experienced employment specialists are available at all times to assist both customers and job providers utilize Michigan Talent Bank. This electronic labor exchange allows employers to enter job orders, as well as access potential employee resumes. Job seekers can register for employment and view job order listings on-line.
Unemployment insurance claimants can file a claim via phone or online at the Monroe Service Center. Claimants must also register on the Michigan Talent Bank at the Monroe Service Center.
RESOURCE CENTER
JOB SEEKERS: Telephones are available for you to use in contacting employers and setting up interviews, and also available for filing Unemployment Insurance claims. Free postage is available to mail out resumes, as well as free usage of the fax and copying machines. Our current facility also offers you the following resources for use in your job search: resume writing software, handouts, newspapers, vocational training information, financial aid information, typing tutorial software, Michigan Occupational Information System (MOIS), referrals to community resources, and Internet access. Microsoft Office 2003 Professional tutorials are available. Computers equipped with JAWS and MAGic are available for the visually impaired.
EMPLOYERS Interview rooms are available at the Monroe Service Center for your convenience. Our friendly staff can demonstrate how to enter job orders on Michigan Talent Bank, as well as how to use electronic screening tools to match potential employee resumes on the Internet to your job orders. For those employers unable to visit the Monroe Service Center, a qualified job developer will be happy to take your job order over the phone and/or instruct you on using Michigan Talent Bank. Non-discriminatory, objective screening of resumes, according to your pre-determined criteria, is a service provided through our job developers. You may also want to meet our licensed counselor who will work with you individually to design and administer pre-employment tests for your company.
VETERANS’ SERVICES
A veteran’s representative from the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth, Employment Service Agency is located at the Monroe Service Center to provide specialized counseling, resume preparation, job information, and referrals for all veterans seeking employment. The Michigan Talent Bank also provides a 24-hour veteran’s preference job search web site. Information on the many resources available to veterans can be obtained at the Monroe Service Center. Assistance in registering and job searching on Michigan Talent Bank is also available.
