Monroe County Historical Museum's 2015 Calendar of Events

MAY Michigan Month- celebrate our great state! Book your school tours NOW- dates are going
fast! This month the River Raisin Territorial Park (the Navarre-Anderson Trading Post & Martha Barker Country Store museum) is open from 12-5 each Friday and Saturday. The Museum is also open late on Friday evenings to 8 for downtown Monroe's "First Fridays" through the summer.

8-9th: Navarre-Anderson Trading Post & Country Store open 12-5, North Custer at the Raisinville Road bridge

14th: Civil War Book program, 7 p.m. The update of King's Notes on Civil War Veterans, researched and corrected by multiple researchers. Books are available for purchase.

15-16th: Navarre- Anderson Trading Post and Country Store open, 12-5. Free.

16th: The Museum will be at Scout-O-Rama, 10-5:00 at the Monroe County Fairgrounds, for "The War Is Over" celebrating the end of the Civil War and Gen. George Custer. Stop by our booth.

21st: Friends of the Museum's 75th Museum Anniversary dinner at the VFW hall. Cost.

22-23rd: Navarre-Anderson Trading Post & Country Store open 12-5. Free.

25th: Memorial Day holiday, all sites closed.

29-30th: Navarre-Anderson Trading Post & Country Store open, 12-5. Free.


JUNE Navarre-Anderson Trading Post & Martha Barker Country Store museum open Fridays and Saturdays, 12-5. Free. Nickel and dime candy for sale starting this month. Look for special programs.

3rd: Historical Commission regular meeting, 7:00. Use back museum entrance.

5th: Forties on the First Fridays: Fashions and Firearms with a limited time display of 1940s era clothing and historic firearms; to 8 p.m.

16-18th: Civil War: Camp Monroe student event; registration through Ellis library. Free but limited group size.

24th: Tales by Twilight, Trading Post complex 8-10 p.m. Free; registration required 734 240 7780.

26th: Foodways Fridays, Trading Post complex 12-4 p.m. during open hours. Free.



1st: Historical Commission meeting, 7:00 p.m.

3-4th: Please note: all museum sites closed for the county & national holiday.

18th: Toledo War Day at the Trading Post, with military drill, surveying and more. 12-4 p.m. Free.

24th: Foodways Fridays at the Trading Post, 1204 during open hours. Free.

25th: Picnic at the Park, 12-2 p.m. bring your blanket and food and then play games at the Trading Post.
