In accordance with the Michigan Planning Enabling Act (PA 33 of 2008), the Monroe County Planning Commission is hereby distributing copies of the draft Monroe County Comprehensive Plan.
At their meeting of July 29, 2009 the Monroe County Board of Commissioners approved the plan for distribution.
The purpose of the plan update is to document and study current land use trends, and to present a comprehensive set of recommendations for the direction of land use and development in the County of Monroe, Michigan.

The deadline for receiving comments is the October 14, 2009 meeting of the Monroe County Planning Commission which will be held at 7:30pm in the Monroe County Courthouse.
