Description of Services

The Health Officer/Director leads the formation and implementation of public health policies, procedures and programs, following appropriate federal, state and local laws and guidelines.

The Medical Examiner utilizes an investigator system for determining circumstances related to, and coping with, area fatalities.

The Financial Administrator assists the Health Officer and the department, by providing fiduciary functions such as developing and managing budgets.  Monroe County government contributions, fees for services and grants allocated by state agencies and other public & nonprofit organizations make up the public health funding sources.
