What Is Our Ambition?

The Monroe County Health Department is committed to fulfilling our stated mission:

To protect the public's health through health promotion, disease prevention and preservation of the environment.

As it has for the past 60+ years, MCHD works to improve the Monroe County residents' health and the health of the environment. Our ultimate goal is one of: "Healthy People in Healthy Communities."

Who Are We?

The Monroe County Health Department's six divisions include: Administration, Clinical Services, Dental Health, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Health and Maternal and Child Health. The Administrative Division includes the Office of the Director.

The Public Health Staff works tirelessly to provide programs and services to meet the needs of individuals and families in the community. So please tour our website. Our hope is that via this website and our services, we can assist County residents in having healthy lives and living in a healthy environment.
