The Detective Sergeant oversees five officers.  Three work out of the main office and are assigned cases in District 1.  One detective is assigned to the Bedford substation in District II and one detective is assigned to District III located in Dundee.

The Detectives investigate serious and complex crimes.  They have received specialized training in areas of crime prevention, child abuse, computer crimes, and crime scene processing.  All detectives are also medical examiner investigators.
