SPECIAL RESPONSE TEAM

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team has been active for approximately three years.  J.A. Dan Motylinski is the S.R.T. Commander.  The team has two squads each commanded by a Team Leader Sergeant and an assistant team leader.  Currently there are 15 officers assigned to the Team with breaching, entry, arrest, containment and marksman/observer elements.


S.R.T. officers are trained specialist with weapons and tactics that serve many functions.  They are responsible for the peaceful resolutions of hostage situations, barricaded gunman, high risk arrest and search warrants, and any other situation that the Sheriff deems necessary.

All S.R.T. personnel are graduates of the following S.W.A.T. academies.  The Down River Urban Assault Training Academy at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and the Western  Wayne Swat Academy.


Since it's inception S.R.T. has been activated on 18 missions, all with peaceful resolutions.
