Youth Services
The Youth Services Division of the Sheriff's Office has several components that fall within its framework and areas of responsibility. There are presently (8 ) Deputies and (1) Division commander assigned to the Youth Services. The Division Commander also serves as the Safe Schools Liaison with the Monroe County Intermediate School District. The Deputies are assigned to various duties within the Division. These areas consist of assignments to investigate any and all crimes related to juveniles. Deputies also assist in pro-active programs such as D.A.R.E. (Drug Awareness Resistance Education) and T.E.A.M.(Teaching, Educating and Mentoring), which is taught in K-12 classrooms across the County, including private, and public schools. There are presently (2) Detectives assigned full time to investigate crimes relating to juveniles. In addition there are (6) Deputies assigned to (5) Public School Districts as Liaison Officers also known as (SRO's) School Resource Officers. Their duties consist of creating an environment in the schools that promotes a safe and secure atmosphere to students and staff as well as serve as a resource for the students, administrators and parents in assisting and promoting students completion of school. The Division Commander oversees all the operations and is also a Liaison for the Monroe County Intermediate School District.
