EnhanceFitness Program |

Is are moderate-impact classes with high-impact results that is an evidence-based group exercise program for older adults that uses simple, easy-to-learn movements that motivate individuals (particularly those with arthritis) to stay active throughout their life. Here are some of the changes our participants have noticed:

Monroe County’s only public transportation offers a variety of safe and easily accessible transportation services. All of the buses are lift equipped. In addition to the 8 Fixed Routes, the Frenchtown and Bedford Dial-A-Rides and the ADA service, there is the ETS service (Essential Transportation Service). ETS is a door to door service specifically for older residents 60+ and for the disabled. ETS may be used for any purpose after providing a 48 hour advanced notice. | |

Specialized Transportation provides reliable transportation to non-emergency medical appointments and treatments for senior and non-senior Monroe County residents with a disability or a chronic medical condition. | |
Milan Seniors for Healthy Living Transportation |

Provides transportation to anyone 50+ years of age, living within the 48160 zip code, can be picked up from their home and brought to the Milan Senior Center and/or anywhere they would like to go (within a 20 mile radius of Milan) for a nominal fare. This demand responsive, door-to-door service is available on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:p.m. and can be scheduled, with at least 24 business hours advance notice, by calling 734-508-6229. | |
Volunteer Services |

Monroe County Retired Senior Volunteer Program | 734-241-0408 |
The Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Monroe County is a program and service offered under the Monroe Center for Healthy Aging sponsorship is working to expand volunteer experiences to better reach the entire county with special attention to supplying health, nutrition, and safety services to help seniors remain in their homes. Other areas of special interest will include using the special talents of seniors to help our children with math, reading, and socialization and maintaining the existing network of senior support to many community services. |
MCOP Volunteer Caregiver Program | 734-241-2775 |
The Monroe County Opportunity Program Volunteer Caregiver Program will provide services to the older adult in the home. The level of services will be determined based on a full assessment. The end-result is that seniors receive much-needed services and caregivers are better connected to community resources and are provided respite. |
