Monroe County Museum's 2017 Calendar of Events
Please note historical commission meeting have been changed to the second Wednesday of the month.
Special Exhibit: Two Pandemics That Touched Monroe County (limited time to May 28th)
29th: Memorial Day holiday: sites closed.
2nd: Downtown "First Friday" Art Crawl 6- 9 p.m. Staffer and artist Gerry Wykes will be demonstrating drawing & sketching starting at 6:15. Try your hand at sketching for free during the "crawl" times.
14th: Historical Commission regular meeting, 7 p.m. use back museum entrance.
19-20th: "Camp Monroe"- register through the Monroe County Library. Open to both boys & girls; free! Learn about the life & times of the Civil War soldier.
28th: A County Bicentennial series: "Monroe County Historical Markers" program one, two sessions (same content): 10 a.m. or 6 p.m. at the museum. Register in person through city of Monroe Park dept. or before the program.
4th: Closed for the holiday
7th: Downtown "First Friday" celebrating Monroe's Bicentennial 6- 9 p.m.
12th: Historical Commission meeting, 7 p.m. at the museum- use back entrance
14th: Monroe County 200 years old, and counting!
19th: A County Bicentennial series: "Monroe County Historical Markers" program two; two sessions (same content): 10 a.m. or 6p.m. at the museum. Register in person at the city parks dept. or before the program if not already registered.
21-22nd: Toledo War weekend, 11- 4p.m. at the River Raisin Territorial Park (Trading Post & Country Store site) on North Custer Road
23rd: "Tales By Twilight" evening event at the Trading Post (River Raisin Territorial Park, North Custer Road) starting at 8 p.m., with s'mores and folktales, stories & more!
30th: Start of Monroe County Fair Week; Eby Pioneer Cabin open this week on the fairgrounds
