IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY YOUR TAXES

The Monroe County Treasurer has payment options to assist you in paying your taxes.  Contact our office for more information about:

  • Partial Payments
  • Automatic monthly payments from your checking or savings account
  • Pay by credit card online.
NOTE:  There is an additional 3% Convenience Fee for credit card transactions

Bankruptcy -- If you have filed for bankruptcy, you must provide us with a  copy of your documentation so we can stop the foreclosure process.

Hardship Extension -- A hardship extension may be granted to someone who is in danger of losing their Principal Residence.  This is only an extension of time to pay, it does not reduce the tax, and interest continues to accumulate.

If you think you may be eligible for a one year extension to help you get caught up on paying your property taxes, please complete our Hardship Application Form, and call our office for an appointment at (734) 240-7365.
