Emergency Management
The mission of the Monroe County Emergency Management Division is to support our citizens and first responders to ensure that as a community we work together to build, sustain, and improve our capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate all hazards.
The National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) communicates information about terrorist threats by providing timely, detailed information to the public, government agencies, first responders, airports and other transportation hubs, and the private sector. NTAS recognizes that Americans all share responsibility for the nation's security, and should always be aware of the heightened risk of terrorist attack in the United States and what they should do.
Monroe County Hazard Mitigation Survey
Monroe County is in the process of updating the Hazard Mitigation Plan, which will be used to identify measures to reduce the impacts of hazards affecting the residents of Monroe County. The Plan will also qualify the County and the participating jurisdictions for pre-disaster and flood mitigation funds through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The questionnaire has been developed to identify the awareness and concerns of the public on hazards, as well as getting your information to Monroe County Emergency Management to assist in the development of projects to address the hazards. Your participation in completing this survey is voluntary and greatly appreciated.
