Financing Opportunities

Entrepreneurial traditions run deep in Monroe County, and the Monroe County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) is fully committed to helping new and expanding business get the support they need to prosper. Because financing a new or expanding business venture can be challenging, this brochure was developed to help draw attention to programs that may be helpful. Generally, these programs exist to supplement private financing and owner equity. They help "fill gaps" between what can be accomplished with resources from financial institutions and what may be needed to launch a new business endeavor.

The following material is not a complete list of all programs. It does, however, draw attention to many of the larger and more significant programs that help start-ups and expanding businesses.

  • Farm Service Agency (FSA) Programs
  • Monroe County Library System
  • Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) Program
  • Small Business Administration (SBA) Programs
  • State of Michigan Programs
  • USDA Loan and Grant Programs
  • Useful Tools

Individuals who are interested in financial support for new business start-ups or expansions are encouraged to begin by investigating the resources listed.
