The Cold Case Homicide Unit was created by Sheriff Goodnough, in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the University of Michigan Dearborn, and the University of Toledo. Monroe County detectives investigate unsolved homicides through collaborative strategies that embrace new technologies and community policing partnerships. Interns from UofM Dearborn and UToledo assist with tasks that streamline the direction of these cases.
This unit strives to bring justice to these cases so no criminal may find solace in the passage of time.
