An explosive is a substance, or prepared chemical that explodes or causes an explosion. Approximately 70% of all terrorist attacks worldwide involve explosives.
Even though terrorist bombings are usually unpredictable events, there are steps you can take to prepare yourself and your family so you know what to do if you are in the area of a bombing event.
Before a bombing:
- Know your work, school, and community disaster plans and make one of your own
- Identify an alternate hospital you can go to for help, since the hospitals closest to the event are always the busiest and most overwhelmed
