The Monroe County Health Department Environmental Health staff routinely respond to housing complaints where public health and safety are a concern. Common concerns are insect or rodent infestations, sewage on the ground or in surface water, lack of potable water in a housing unit and garbage or other solid waste concerns. We also work hand in hand with local municipalities to try and maintain a community that has a low risk of disease or injury from these common issues.
If you have a concern about a housing unit in your area or the unit you live in, please feel free to contact the Monroe County Environmental Health Division at 734-240-7900. Should your concern not be an issue that we can assist in resolving, we will do our best to put you in touch with the correct agency that can assist.
